In residential applications this system is ideal for use as a garage floor, instantly transforming that huge amount of neglected square footage into a source of pride, not embarrassment! Commercially, it is ideal for clinics, showrooms, office floors, retail stores, cafeterias, bathrooms and many other applications. For industrial uses it is suitable for warehouses, parking garages and aircraft hangars. The coating is impervious to oil, gasoline, hydraulic fluid, urine, blood, ink, mineral spirits, paint, even xylene!

Gone are the ‘dusting’ issues associated with plain concrete, where it is tracked into the home or adjoining offices. Gone, too, are the surface cracks, staining and other annoyances associated with plain concrete. And unlike with ‘acid stained’ concrete floors, the color is entirely controllable. Our 100% solids epoxy primer guarantees the floor coating will bond to the concrete and the polyurethane color and clear topcoats insure you will never have issues of color loss or yellowing. The coating is applied vertically as well as horizontally so no plain concrete is visible anywhere.

Our Color Flake System is a heavyweight, commercial grade coating requiring several days to install.

The application is a multi-step process that takes several days to complete. First, the concrete must be properly ‘profiled’ and deep cleaned to accept the coating. This is done through a combination of etching, and power washing. Cracks and other imperfections are then repaired if the customer chooses.

Following that an epoxy color coat is applied into which a full broadcast of decorative acrylic chips is broadcast.

After that cures overnight , we apply two coats of polyurethane clear.

On a technical note, urethane color and clear coats are more expensive to use than epoxy coatings but provide our customers with distinct advantages.

Epoxy inherently turns yellow with age and sunlight; urethane does not. Urethane resists scratches and damage from impact better than epoxy because it is flexible. Epoxy is harder and makes a great primer. Urethane is the superior product in the upper layers of any coating. That's why most automobile finishes are urethane, and not epoxy!
